Hi everyone
Besty survived the JC last night - more details to follow in due course - he wants to fax a letter to the legal department at Bethel but having phoned them from the train this morning, they are being cagey about giving out the number and the 'operative' at the end of the phone wouldn't identify himself either - I think this organisation and its minions think they are in the same league as MI5, the CIA, the FBI etc. LOL
Can anyone give us the Cult fax number please?

Mental Illness - diagnosed for me
by Crumpet ini've long known, and most of you probably have as well, that there was something not all there with me.
mostly i put it down to me being bad.
questions i've never been asked before.

Thinking of you Crumps - hope the clouds clear soon.
If you want something funny to think about - imagine Besty at the JC tonight - he's going to give them hell!

Jehovah's Witnesses and Showing Off
by Good Girl or Bad Girl? inso i guess it's convention time again back in wisconsin or illinois or wherever the hell they drive nowadays.
someone made me unfortunately have to remember this.
so i got to thinking about the conventions and the showing off that took place there:.

GGBG, I can totally relate to your post. I have a wardrobe of clothes I will probably never wear again but I am not bitter (even though I've got the credit card bills to deal with - my own shallow fault!) - I'm just relieved and much more content with less now. No more pressure to wear new outfits, get hair done etc, for the next assembly, assignment or just meetings. I did used to enjoy the thrill of looking good, everyone commenting on how I looked and having the reputation of being very together and well dressed but now I can see it really was quite shallow and had nothing to do with 'faith' and spirituality - more Pharisaical if anything.
When I make an extra special effort these days it's for something really worth it - my old mate's wedding, Ascot, etc...
And you're only 26 - you have a whole 10 years on me! Don't be bitter, be thankful you won't be wasting any more years. :-) -

Glad to hear all is going as planned.
Hope mum is better soon.
New friendships will take time but I'm sure you will make some great friendships with ones who will care about you unconditionally.
Way to go R.F.! -

Hi D Hi!
Hope you had a good one.
Such a shame our 'brothers and sisters' are missing out on such fun.

Counting Time?
by sweet pea inreading through the posts it seems to be that many of you put in field service reports that are/were inaccurate for one reason or the other.
what were/are your reasons?
what ways did/do you count your time?

What were/are your reasons?
What ways did/do you count your time?
Did/do you feel guilty about inaccurate reporting?
What do you think are the implications of all the 'fudging'? (as in what percentage of time spent 'in the ministry' is actually time spent preaching?)
IMHO, taking into account all the time taken from handing out a 'tract' to getting back in your car, 'not at homes' and 'fake reports', it's probably something like 10 percent! -

Hypothetical Situation
by Junction-Guy insuppose you met a jw and started talking, and right from the beginning you start questioning them and their doctrines.
you knew they were practicing "theocratic warfare strategy" just from your former knowledge of their beliefs.
however there is one major thing that they are honestly ignorant about?

The timing is more important when telling them this information.
If they are at a point where they are already questioning or are at a very low/vulnerable/exhausted place, then they may possibly, and only very possibly start to realise the implications of such a fact.
If they are not at this point then you are wasting your breath, however cleverly you put it to them.
If I had a pound for every time a dub said that it was perfectly ok to be a member because they needed to be to use the library, I'd be a rich woman!
I also had another dub say to me "they didn't care if there were 10,000 paedophiles in the congregation - nothing would make them believe that the society isn't God's true channel!"
Choose your moment, tell it how it is and leave them to do the research on the internet or phone up the United Nations.... -

Oops, my proof reading's not that great (my emotions cloud my vision sometimes!)
Under Flip Flops on Organ Transplants it meant to read -
"its not good enough to say "sorry they died as a result of old light - they'll get a resurrection though, so everything's ok" "
